Your Responsibilities
As a Business Analyst, you will be responsible for obtaining and evaluating large, complex data sets and models. Your role includes applying mathematical and statistical theories to support management decisions, developing quantitative and analytical models, and reviewing and validating risk models. You will also manage wildfire modeling, participate in member meetings to understand their risk management strategies, and stay updated on industry trends. Additionally, you will engage in research projects, data mining, and reporting to support the company's technology and data analytics initiatives.
What You Need to Succeed
To excel in this role, you will need a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as accounting, finance, risk management, data analytics, economics, mathematics, or statistics. Key competencies include analytical thinking, attention to detail, data literacy, information gathering, intellectual curiosity, and a love for numbers and mathematics. You should have 3-5 years of experience working with data, regardless of the specific role or industry. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to respond to internal and external requests effectively are also essential.
