What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Estimator position at Hays?
Our client, a premiere GC in Florida specializes in commercial construction, is looking for a Senior Estimator to join their team.
Day-to-Day responsibilities :
- Compile bid lists for subcontractors and suppliers for multiple projects simultaneously.
- Build strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Engage with subcontractors to discuss scope of work and value engineering options.
- Review bid documents and define the scope of work for each discipline.
- Create bid comparison sheets for evaluating subcontractor bids.
- Perform digital takeoffs using on-screen takeoff software.
- Ensure subcontractor and supplier proposals comply with plans and specifications.
- Assist in developing estimates from conceptual through to final bid construction documents.
- Work with the design team on details and product specifications.
- Prepare qualifications to accompany each estimate level.
- Review projects with Company Principals regarding subcontractor selection and final estimate preparation.
- Prepare all exhibits to accompany the Owner contract.
- Assist in developing the internal project database.
- Customize data for estimating software.
- Attend local industry networking events.
- Assist in preparing bid packages for state and local government projects.
