Position Overview:
We are looking for a highly motivated and forward-thinking Assistant Controller to join our leadership team. In this pivotal role, you’ll oversee the financial operations at our Merced facility, with a strong focus on financial accuracy, compliance, and continuous process improvement. Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Leadership: Oversee month-end close processes, ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, and delivering comprehensive presentations to senior leadership.
- Compliance & Reconciliations: Manage balance sheet reconciliations, general ledger entries, and maintain strict compliance with all relevant financial regulations and internal policies.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Take ownership of budgeting processes, including quarterly and year-end financial reporting, providing insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Audit Readiness: Lead audit preparation efforts, ensuring compliance with regulatory and reporting standards, while collaborating closely with auditors.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a small but skilled accounting team, cultivating a results-oriented, collaborative culture that promotes professional growth and operational excellence.
- Process Optimization: Continuously review and improve financial processes, implementing best practices in operational accounting to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Who You Are:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Licensure: CPA certification is strongly preferred.
- Experience: Demonstrated experience managing financial processes within a manufacturing or related industry is essential.
- Skills: Strong technical accounting skills, attention to detail, and a passion for financial management. Exceptional communication, leadership, and time management abilities are key.
- Adaptability: Ability to handle multiple priorities with a sense of urgency and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.
- Technology: Proficient in financial software and ERP systems, with advanced skills in MS Excel.
