Financial Controller – Private Equity Real Estate Firm

Salary: $168,000 – $202,000 per year

A dynamic and highly collaborative Private Equity Firm specializing in Real Estate is seeking an experienced Controller to join their growing team. With over $2 billion in assets under management, the firm is dedicated to strategic investments, acquisitions, asset management, and real estate development. About the Role:
As the Financial Controller, you will oversee the banking, accounting, and property management functions for the firm and its partnerships. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will act as a "player-coach", both managing a team of three and handling high-impact projects directly. This is a hybrid role, with the position based primarily in the office and the flexibility to work remotely as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all financial reporting, accounting, and banking operations.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance in property management financials.
- Actively contribute to investment decisions, acquisitions, asset management, and development projects.
- Lead and mentor a team of three accounting professionals.
- Optimize financial processes and implement best practices.
Who We’re Looking For:
Ideal candidates have leadership and controller level experience in real estate and/or property management and proficiency in Yardi software. We’re looking for someone with:
✔️ Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
✔️ Experience in private equity, real estate, or property management accounting.
✔️ Leadership experience managing teams and financial operations.
✔️ Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
✔️ CPA license (preferred but not required).
