Hayt, Hayt & Landau, P.L. is a law firm focused on creditor’s rights. Our firm has offices in Miami, FL and Atlanta, GA. Our Firm is seeking an Associate Attorney with interest in civil litigation and / or debt collection. This is a good position for an attorney awaiting bar results or just having graduated law school. Our attorneys work with a team of legal clerks to manage a high volume case load. Responsibilities include conducting an accurate legal review of pleadings, drafting motions, negotiating with defendants or their counsel, and representing our clients in court. This is an opportunity for significant early courtroom experience. We are looking for applicants with a JD from an accredited law school who are bar certified, active, and in good standing in the state of Georgia. Ability to work autonomously with limited supervision and a strong sense of discretion are required along with excellent written and verbal skills.

Responsibilities
Manage a large volume of cases assigned to you
Update cases in our software system
Process incoming and outgoing legal documents and communications
Draft and review court pleadings
Regularly work lists of files to keep up to date
Communicate with courts and clients to manage case information
Draft motions and communications as needed
Appear in court physically and via Zoom on a regular basis
Negotiate with opposing counsel to achieve final resolution of cases.
Background, Drug, Credit, and Fingerprint tests done prior to hiring
Skills

Ability to learn quickly and ask the appropriate questions to learn the job to the best of your ability
