Provide assessment, diagnosis, and treatment related to mental health needs clients under the supervision of a licensed mental health professional. As a member of the multidisciplinary counseling clinic team provide input for assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning and delivery of mental health services.
- Provide mental health assessment, ensuring proper placement and identifying issues that complicate recovery under the supervision of a licensed mental health professional.
- Provides individual therapy and guidance in order to identify and address mental health issues that complicate recovery while supporting and encouraging individual mental health resource utilization under the supervision of a licensed mental health professional.
- Facilitate group counseling services for selected patients to ensure mental health issues that complicate recovery are addressed with the benefit of peer support and feedback.
- Promote and maintain a cooperative relationship with other Hazelden continuum care programs, i.e., outpatient chemical dependency, family program, Renewal Center.
- Facilitate crisis intervention to ensure safety and well-being of patients under the supervision of a licensed mental health professional.
- Participate in ongoing education in order to produce the highest quality of service and expertise needed for the organization and as required by statute (36 hrs every two years) or by relevant license.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree
- Knowledge of 12 step chemical treatment approaches and expertise in stages of recovery
- Minimum 2 years freedom from chemical dependency (CA Title 22, CA residential site only)
- Licensure of their specialty (MFT, psychology, or social work) in process

Current CPR certification or obtain within 30 days (fully remote work employees exempt).
- Certification must be from American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
- Must satisfactorily pass state required background check
