What are the responsibilities and job description for the Temporary Human Resources Assistant position at Hazelett Corporation?
The Human Resources Assistant supports daily HR operations by providing administrative assistance and working closely with the HR Manager and other administrative staff to help advance the organization's mission. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented individual who can manage multiple tasks while maintaining professionalism and strict confidentiality.
This role is temporary from May through October.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Administrative
- Maintain and update employee records (physical and digital).
- Organize and file HR documents.
- Coordinate and manage onboarding processes.
- Track and manage employee leave records, including FMLA and other leaves of absence.
- Assist with benefit enrollment of new employees
- Internal communications postings
Recruiting
- Provide back up to the recruiting specialist by screening applications, coordinating interviews, posting job openings, and managing applications as they come in.
- Provide back up for candidate communications, ensuring timely updates and information is provided throughout the hiring process.
- Assist with onboarding paperwork and forms.
- Coordinate pre-employment screenings.
Employee Relations
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies and procedures.
- Maintain and update orientation materials, process post-orientation paperwork.
- Track and follow up on performance reviews
- Assist with planning and executing employee recognition activities.
Other Duties
- Support the logistics and coordination of training programs.
- Administer the manufacturing uniform program.
- Handle sensitive employee information with confidentiality.
- Provide general clerical support, including photocopying, mailing, and scanning.
- Perform other HR-related tasks as assigned.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
- A high school diploma and a minimum of two years of relevant human resources experience.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and integrity at all times.
- Strong work ethic and regular attendance.
- Excellent follow-through on all assignments.
- Able to resolve benefit-related issues independently and with sound judgment.
- Proficiency in computer use, internet navigation, and database management.
- High initiative, integrity, strong communication, and analytical skills.
- Excellent time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Able and willing to be available to meet second and third shift employees, as needed.
