Student Tutor
Student tutors will provide virtual academic tutoring services in Math and English Language Arts for elementary school students across the Hazelwood School District.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Facilitate student achievement.
Examples of Work Performed:
- Provides supplemental virtual tutoring services to students who require additional support in alignment with the building principal’s guidance
- Virtually meets and instructs assigned students upon request
- Creates a virtual environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students

Monitors student achievement.
Examples of Work Performed:
- Assesses the success of students after help has been provided and shares information with elementary school staff

Perform other duties as assigned or required.
Examples of Work Performed:
- Attends required orientation and professional development sessions
- Maintains student attendance records
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: Enrolled as a current college or university student.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of English Language Arts and Math standards
PREFFERED REQUIRED: Past tutoring experience is preferred, but not required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, and to lift up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required included close vision, distance vision, the ability to adjust and focus, and depth perception. Specific hearing abilities required include normal conversation and isolating voices in multiple conversations.

Works virtually; must have strong internet access

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Paid per base cell/salary for hazelwood Building Aide salary schedule: $15.30 per hour
