Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, planning, layout, and installation of manufacturing equipment and facility upgrades.
- Manage project costs to align with budgetary constraints.
- Oversee project management activities, including generating solution concepts, justifying project costs, qualifying contract bids, and maximizing returns on capital projects.
- Work alongside Managers to ensure the effective operation of equipment and identify areas for process improvements and preventative maintenance enhancements.
- Conduct equipment and process capability studies, proposing innovative solutions for approval.
- Diagnose technical issues and formulate practical solutions tailored to the complexity of projects.
- Support troubleshooting, repair, and development of instrumentation and controls.
- Present project updates, cost assessments, recommendations, and concerns to the management team.
- Provide support for production processes as needed, given the plant operates continuously.
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and practices.
- Proficiency in PLC programming, HMIs, and SCADA systems.
- Strong project management skills in an industrial environment.
- Ability to perform capability studies and propose actionable improvements.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities to interact effectively across all organizational levels.
- Familiarity with SolidWorks Professional and AutoCAD is advantageous.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- A minimum of three years of engineering experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Experience in the metals industry is preferred.
- Proven track record in successfully managing multiple projects in an industrial context.
