Project-Focused Mechanical Engineer in Manufacturing

Job Overview

We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer to collaborate closely with our management team in the development, design, and execution of impactful projects that enhance our facility and production processes. This role will provide critical engineering support in areas such as plant modifications, maintenance, regulatory compliance, and the training of personnel on both equipment and procedural standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage in the design, planning, layout, and installation of manufacturing and facility equipment.
• Oversee project management responsibilities, including generating solution concepts, justifying project costs, and assessing contract bids.
• Collaborate with management to ensure optimal equipment operation and identify opportunities for preventative maintenance.
• Conduct capability studies on processes or equipment and propose enhancements for approval.
• Address technical challenges by identifying and implementing practical solutions aligned with project complexity.
• Support troubleshooting, repair, and development of instrumentation and controls.
• Deliver engineering solutions to management to ensure comprehensive process capability and recommend continuous improvement initiatives.
• Communicate project details, costs, and recommendations effectively to the management team.
• Provide support to production operations, as the plant operates continuously.
  
  

Required Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Familiarity with PLC programming, HMIs, and SCADA systems.
• Experience within the metals industry is preferred.
• Demonstrated success in managing multiple projects concurrently.
• Strong project management skills in an industrial environment.
• Exceptional interpersonal, team-building, and communication abilities.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD is advantageous.
