We are in search of a talented Maintenance Mechanic to become a vital part of our high-performing maintenance team. This role will be crucial for the daily and long-term upkeep of our sophisticated foundry and mill machinery within an industrial manufacturing context.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute preventative maintenance tasks, troubleshoot issues, and perform repairs, adjustments, and rebuilds on industrial production machinery and supporting equipment.
- Utilize mobile equipment such as forklifts, skid steer loaders, shop cranes, scissor lifts, and articulating man lifts as necessary to fulfill maintenance duties.
- Accurately read and interpret safety regulations and work instructions in both verbal and written formats to ensure adherence to required specifications.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and blueprints.
- Solid understanding of general mechanical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and rotating assemblies (bearings, couplings, gears, gear trains, chains, sprockets, brakes, clutches, belts, and pulleys).
- Experienced in troubleshooting and rebuilding various types of pumps such as centrifugal, diaphragm, and piston pumps.
- Skilled in the use of precision measurement tools, including calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and as a self-motivated individual capable of multitasking.
- Ownership of personal hand tools and commitment to maintaining them as well as acquiring necessary tools to enhance craftsmanship.
- Proven mechanical aptitude and experience in industrial maintenance settings.
- High school diploma or equivalent education; vocational training in mechanical maintenance or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in mechanical repair or industrial maintenance.
