We are seeking a skilled Electrical Technician who will apply their electrical theory knowledge to test and modify operational electrical control systems throughout our facility. This role involves close collaboration with the Electrical Supervisor and the Electrical Maintenance Manager to ensure optimal performance and reliability of our electrical equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Repair and replace defective components in generators, motors, storage batteries, controllers, switchboards, switches, conductors, and other electrical fixtures.
- Install, maintain, and repair electro-mechanical, electrical, and electronic machinery and equipment components, including transformers and hydraulic and pneumatic devices.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and repairs on electronic and electrical systems, devices, and components across field, plant, and shop environments.
- Monitor and track inventory on-site while assisting with annual inventory assessments alongside the Finance Department.
- Test solid-state circuits to identify and rectify defective elements in both digital and analog equipment.
- Implement enhancements and significant upgrades to plant electrical subsystems.
- Utilize specialized digital cameras and thermographic imaging technology for infrared analysis of field equipment.
- Design and adapt motor power control circuits while accurately interpreting blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
- Prepare work schedules and coordinate activities with various divisions and sections to optimize workflow.
- Ensure the precise execution of all preventive maintenance tasks.
- Strong proficiency in electrical theory and operational electrical control systems.
- Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
- Skilled in repairing and replacing parts in a variety of electrical fixtures.
- Knowledgeable in preventive maintenance techniques for electronic and electrical systems.
- Experienced in testing solid-state circuitry in both digital and analog contexts.
- Familiarity with installing and maintaining electro-mechanical and electronic components.
- A degree in an Electrical Technician-related field from an accredited college.
- Certification in the Electrical Technician field from a recognized institution.
- A minimum of five years of experience within a steel production and rolling mill environment.
