Essential Job Functions
As an Armed Protective Security Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of stakeholders and the facility. Your responsibilities will include :
Enforcing access control measures to permit entry only to authorized individuals, packages, and vehiclesOperating walk-through and hand-held metal detectors, as well as x-ray machines, to screen individuals and itemsConducting thorough vehicle inspectionsIdentifying and addressing security threats according to established protocolsPreventing, detecting, and apprehending individuals attempting unauthorized access or violating lawsExecuting emergency closure procedures and providing security assistance during crisesConducting roving guard services and perimeter / interior patrols to identify security breaches and unsafe conditionsDelivering exceptional customer service to facility employees and visitorsMonitoring and operating various security systems, including intrusion detection, surveillance, and access control systemsProviding escort and courier services for the safe transportation of personnel and propertyPerforming emergency responses, including CPR, AED, and first aid, as neededMaintaining accurate reports, records, and logsPSOs must have the ability to remain alert for up to 12 hours, be on post up to 4 consecutive hours without sitting, eating, or bathroom breaks,Utilizing weapons when necessary, following established guidelines.We offer competitive pay and benefits! To be considered for this position, candidates must meet ALL of the following requirements, and examination results must be favorable as defined by contractual standards :
Experience
Minimum of 2 years of armed security experience within the past five years ORMinimum of 1 year of law enforcement experience in full-duty status with a full-service police department within the US, with a good standing resignation or retirement ORMinimum of 2 years of honorable service as a member of any US Armed Forces, National Guard, or Reserve service.Education
High school diploma or GED.Qualifications
Minimum age requirement : 21 yearsUS citizenship or lawful permanent residency for current members of the U.S. Armed Services or individuals with an Honorable Discharge from the U.S. MilitaryMust have been issued a Social Security Card by the Social Security AdministrationAbility to obtain favorable verification through the E-Verify systemFluently speak, read, write, and understand EnglishPossession of a current State-issued Driver’s License or State IDProficiency and comfort with firearmsAbility to handle common and crisis situations at the client site calmly and efficientlyProfessional demeanor and appearanceExcellent customer service and interpersonal skillsTeam-oriented and safety-consciousHigh level of ethics and integrity.Other Requirements
