SUMMARY


The HR Consultant position is responsible for identifying and implementing custom solutions for clients including leading engagements, providing ongoing support, leading projects and process improvement initiatives, and customizing and delivering training and coaching sessions. The position formulates partnerships with clients to deliver value-added services to organizational leaders, managers, and employees that reflect the business objectives of the organization. The HR Consultant maintains an effective level of business literacy about client businesses and workplace culture and acts proactively to engage with clients to ensure that HR practices align with business objectives and outcomes.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, or related degree or comparable experience.
  • SHRM or HRCI certification preferred.
  • 3 years of multifunctional HR experience in an HR Generalist capacity.
  • 1 year of experience facilitating training sessions in a group setting.
  • Prior experience with consulting or client relations preferred.
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, employee relations, performance management, HR automation, training, and recruitment.
  • Strong working knowledge of major employment laws including Equal Opportunity Employment laws including Americans with Disabilities Act, Fair Labor Standards Act, and general state and local compliance familiarization.
  • Ability to travel to client locations for meetings.
  • Ability to present training sessions in group settings.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Conduct audits of clients’ HR practices and processes from tactical to strategic. Prepare recommendations and present executive review of findings to client and collaborate with clients to develop an action plan for services.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to client leadership, management, and staff on an ongoing basis, providing HR guidance and recommendations across areas including compliance, compensation, policies, procedure, HR operations, leaves of absence and accommodation requests, employee relations, recruitment, retention, training and development and employee engagement.
  • Manage and facilitate resolution of employee relations issues. Facilitate effective, thorough, and objective investigations. Provide guidance to managers about resolution and documentation of conduct issues.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of employment laws, trends, and technology.
  • In collaboration with Client Service Team, lead and act as a liaison for client projects including but not limited to handbooks, job descriptions, performance management systems, HRIS implementation, engagement surveys, training and development, organizational design, succession planning, and compensation planning.
  • Identify training and coaching needs for clients. Customize, present, and facilitate training and coaching sessions to cover array of management development and competency training.
  • Participate in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success and working with the client to determine effectiveness and future development plans.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE

  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, best practices, and policies.
  • Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of client organization's hierarchy, roles, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Prior Human Capital Management or HRIS experience along with familiarity with ATS, custom HR SaS, and other technology in support of advanced HR practices..
  • Familiarity with payroll systems and automated onboarding and 3rd party HR applications
  • Demonstrated proficiency with HR common practices, policies, compliance requirements, and operational details.
