Area Manager (Fleet Operations) -HC Transport a subsidiary of Home City Ice

Overview

Responsible for an assigned area, ensuring compliance to Fleet Operations. Provide guidance and direction of policies and programs ensuring compliance with DOT and FMCSA regulations. Compile and analyze data producing reports and make recommendations to enhance safe fleet operations.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned area of the Company footprint to ensure compliance with Fleet Operations.
• Remain current on DOT regulations fleet and drivers ensuring compliance with; safety, HOS, maintenance, Driver Qualification, controlled substance and alcohol.
• Conduct accident investigations, document root cause analysis, follow up, ensure adherence to FMCSA regulation.
• Identify tasks to achieve assigned goals.
• Develop and lead training events for management and drivers.
• Assist in development of policies and guidelines.
• Seek out industry best practices and effective methods to achieve incident prevention and DOT compliance.
• Obtain a CDL within 180 days of employment.
• Analyze and investigate incidents.
• Prepare training material, present that material one on one and to large groups.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 3 years managing, training, and leading others.
• Proficient using computer programs with spread sheets, word processing, and presentations.
• Ability to assess and prioritize tasks with direction.
• Travel for work is required.
• Ability to repetitively lift and move product in quantities of 7lb and 20lb.

Reporting

• This position will report into the Vice President of Fleet Operations.
