Job Summary and Qualifications
The Infection Prevention Coordinator is responsible for active participation in facility clinical improvement activities. Experience with daily surveillance, analysis and reporting of hospital acquired infections. The Infection Prevention coordinator serves as an internal consultant in regards to data collection, analysis, reporting and team facilitation in relation to improving patient outcomes related to health care associated infections and infectious diseases. The Infection Prevention Coordinator is responsible for coordination, facilitation and leadership of infection prevention and control activities related to patient and health care worker safety and quality/performance improvement initiatives.
What qualifications you will need:
- Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing, Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Master’s degree in Public Health or Epidemiology.
- BSN preferred
- RN: FL RN license or appropriate compact licensure; Non-RN: Appropriate licensure for profession.
- Certification in Infection Prevention and Control preferred or eligible to certify in Infection Prevention within two years of hire.
- RN: One year Infection Control and three years clinical nursing experience preferred. Experience in acute care preferred. NonRN, two years of acute care hospital and Infection Control experience is preferred.
