Project Manager for Large-Scale Strategic Initiatives
About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Project Manager to support the execution of large-scale strategic initiatives across the University of Iowa Health Care community. The successful candidate will lead and direct multiple projects, working closely with stakeholders to deliver results within budget, on schedule, and in accordance with scope.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a change agent for the organization, driving leadership awareness, commitment, and accountability for HCIS initiatives and project outcomes
- Partner with HCIS and other internal and external stakeholders to successfully implement information systems initiatives and projects
- Drive project planning, estimating, scheduling, and resource allocation in line with unit goals, strategic, and business objectives
- Facilitate effective communication, reporting, and teamwork among project teams, sponsors, clients, and stakeholders
- Mentor and coach project managers and coordinators, and plan and conduct project management training sessions
Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Expert knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques (PMP)
- Advanced leadership and general management skills, including communication, negotiation, conflict resolution, and organizational environment understanding
- Able to work effectively in a diverse environment, analyzing project requirements, developing implementation strategies, and providing guidance and oversight throughout the project life cycle
