Onsite Unix / Linux Server Engineer
Description:
- This position
- will be part of a team that is responsible for the growth, on-going maintenance and development of large-scale on-premises and cloud server farms running primarily on Linux and Unix Infrastructure.

- Perform as system administrator to support the installation, configuration, troubleshooting, backup, recovery and upgrading of Linux and Unix Infrastructure.
- Execute patch and vulnerability management on UNIX/Linux environments.
- Experience with legacy HP-UX and IBM AIX server hardware and Operating Systems.
- Execute configuration management, troubleshooting and maintenance as well as administrative execution of patch and vulnerability management.
- Working knowledge of tools and mechanisms for distributing new or upgraded software to ensure customers receive current versions of supported software as they become available.
- Experience in resolving complex issues related to break-fix, performance tuning, and deployments.
- Ability to provide Level 3 support during US business hours and on-call support outside of US business hours (including weekends) for high priority and critical cases, during major infrastructure activities (upgrades, etc.),
- Basic Knowledge with storage administration (NFS, CIFS, iSCSI, NAS/SAN, etc.) preferably NetApp.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, BIND, LDAP and other core technologies such as NTP, TCP/IP, FCIP, iSCSI, SAN, NAS etc.
- Mentor and guide remote Support Team with UNIX / Linux related issues & escalations.
- Partner and collaborate with and local Engineering Team to ensure platform stability and reliability.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering or equivalent experience in Information Technology Data Center management.
- 12 years of progressive experience in UNIX/Linux support and troubleshooting.
- Possess excellent understanding of UNIX/Linux fundamentals and concepts.
- Knowledge of RHCE, VSphere ESXi, HPUX, Rapid7, Qualys and AIX.
- System Administration experience with Red Hat and other Linux flavors.
- Experience in installation, upgrade, maintenance and troubleshooting of RedHat based servers.
- Knowledge of ITSM Incident/Change/Problem management processes.
- Knowledge of server log tools.
- Hands on experience with racking and cabling of servers in a commercial and on-premises data center environment.
- Customer Service Experience.
- Self -driven, Proactive approach
- Automation techniques (Ansible, PowerShell etc.)
- Extensive experience in Monitoring tools management/ administration and troubleshooting (Oracle Enterprise manager, Nagios, Zabbix etc.).
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, ability to coach and mentor teammates. Ability to partner and collaborate with customer Engineering Teams.
- Red Hat and Solaris Certifications.

Compensation and Benefits
A candidate’s pay within the range will depend on their skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to company policies. In addition, this role is eligible for the following benefits subject to company policies: medical, dental, vision, pharmacy, life, accidental death & dismemberment, and disability insurance; employee assistance program; 401(k) retirement plan; 10 days of paid time off per year (some positions are eligible for need-based leave with no designated number of leave days per year); and 10 paid holidays per year
Salary : $55,000 - $103,000
