Role Description
The Accounting Manager will oversee daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and efficient management of accounting functions. This role involves supervising accounting staff, managing financial processes, and contributing to strategic financial planning.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare financial statements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Prepare journal entries, including payroll and freight accruals.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger (GL) accounts on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis
- Maintain fixed assets records with proper 'in service' dates and depreciation
- Maintain and reconcile customer tooling projects
- Act as subject matter expert for all accounting policies
- Manage money transfers for international and intercompany accounts
- Provide analysis and commentary for monthly closing to Finance Director
- Lead the year-end audit process with external auditors
- Maintain and prepare annual 1099s for independent contractors
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA and a Master's degree is a MUST
At least 5 years of experience as an Accounting Manager, Accounting Supervisor, or similar role
In-depth experience with Accounting for Fixed Assets
Proficient with multiple accounting software packages
Advanced MS Excel Skills are a must
Team Player with excellent communication and leadership skills
