Responsibilities
- Assist in production planning by coordinating with suppliers and internal departments to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Conduct sourcing activities to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their offerings based on price, quality, and reliability.
- Manage inventory levels, ensuring that stock is maintained at optimal levels to support production schedules.
- Utilize MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems to track inventory and forecast future material needs.
- Process purchase orders and contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with logistics teams to coordinate the transportation of goods and manage shipping schedules.
- Maintain accurate records in systems such as Edwards or AS400 for tracking purchases, contracts, and inventory levels.
- Communicate effectively with vendors regarding pricing, availability, and delivery schedules.
Requirements
- Prior experience in purchasing.
- Strong knowledge of production planning, sourcing strategies, and inventory management practices.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively.
- Strong analytical skills to assess supplier performance and make data-driven decisions.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also being self-motivated.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for reporting and analysis.
