Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Review project plans, specifications, and contracts to determine scope, pricing, and bid strategies.
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, and Superintendents to develop accurate cost projections.
- Solicit and analyze subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure competitive pricing.
- Assess project risks, alternative construction methods, and value engineering options to optimize cost efficiency.
- Develop and maintain historical cost data for reference in future projects.
- Participate in bid reviews, proposal development, and client presentations.
- Prepare quantity takeoffs, bid summaries, and cost breakdowns.
- Ensure estimates comply with industry standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Stay updated on market trends, material pricing, and construction methods.
- Support the negotiation process by providing detailed cost analysis to internal teams and clients.
- Work closely with accounting and finance teams to track actual costs vs. estimated budgets.
- Assist with changing order pricing and cost tracking throughout the project lifecycle.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
