What are the responsibilities and job description for the Interim Operating Room Nurse Manager position at HCTHealthcare?
HCT seeks an experienced nursing professional to serve as the Interim Operating Room Nurse Manager, responsible for Endo, PACU, OR and PAT, at a 400 bed facility in Northern California. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Making rounds and doing audits during cases
- Help the department transition to EPIC in the middle part of next year
- ensuring optimal patient outcomes through effective leadership and / or provision of patient care delivery in assigned nursing unit(s) or area(s)
- Consults with nurse leaders and educators on developing strategies for performance improvement.
- Involves physicians, staff and other healthcare team members in the development of plans to manage patient admissions, transfers and discharges.
- Serves as a resource to nursing staff on patient care clinical issues, new policies, and technology.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Mast of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
- Experience: 5 years of recent OR management; Able to prioritize effectively according to department needs and ability to organize a large number of changing variables; Strong communication, writing and inter-personal abilities, including skills such as attitude, diplomacy and persuasiveness, analytical ability, strong judgment and managerial skills
- License: California RN license required
- Certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS required
- Computer Skills: Information systems experience (EPIC) and Microsoft Office suite
