Casualty Claims Associate

The Claims Associate is primarily responsible for reviewing and ensuring that all claim data for newly reported losses is accurately entered into various company systems. Other operational tasks commensurate with experience.
Essential functions:
- Serve as the Claims Department’s first point of contact for customers and third parties who are reporting new claims.
- Review first notices of loss; accurately enter data in the company’s systems within established service standards.
- Gather additional needed information from internal and external stakeholders to complete data entry tasks.
- Prepare and transmit claims acknowledgment communications.
- Alert Claims Leadership of newly reported large losses.
- Complete individual claim investigative tasks as assigned.
- Participate in special projects/assignments at direction of Claims Leadership.
- Assist in training new team members.
Additional Requirements:
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Communication, Insurance or related field.
- Strong verbal, reading and written communication skills.
- Detail oriented.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced team environment.
- Desire to work and learn in a team environment.
- Obtaining Adjuster’s license on the job may be required.
