About the Role
The Head of Business Transformation is responsible for spearheading strategic initiatives to drive organizational efficiency, enhance operational performance, and foster a culture of continuous improvement within HDI Global Insurance Company. This role oversees Portfolio Steering, Project Management, Business Analysis, Business Architecture, and Organizational Change Management to ensure the successful delivery of transformation projects and alignment with the company’s objectives. The role will work closely with business and IT leaders to understand and prioritize operational priorities.
A strong background in P&C insurance operations (underwriting, claims, billing) and related functions, familiarity with both front- and back-office functions, and expertise in Guidewire or similar insurance software platforms are critical for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Portfolio Steering. Develop and oversee a strategic portfolio of business transformation initiatives that align with corporate objectives and deliver measurable value. Prioritize, coordinate, and balance resources across multiple transformation projects, ensuring alignment with enterprise goals. Regularly assess portfolio performance, risks, and benefits, and adjust priorities to meet evolving business needs.
- Project Management. Lead end-to-end project management of transformation initiatives, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to budget, and achievement of expected outcomes. Establish robust project governance frameworks, including risk management, issue tracking, and resource allocation. Utilize project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) to optimize project outcomes and improve cross-functional collaboration.
- Business Analysis. Collaborate with stakeholders to capture business requirements, define project scope, and translate them into actionable project plans. Conduct in-depth analysis of current processes to identify opportunities for automation, simplification, and improvement. Leverage domain knowledge to analyze business needs across both front and back office functions, ensuring projects are rooted in real-world operational requirements.
- Business Architecture. Develop and maintain a comprehensive business architecture to support strategic initiatives, aligning business processes, systems, and data across the organization. Guide the design and implementation of target operating models that support scalability and adaptability. Work closely with IT to ensure technology solutions align with business architecture and support organizational goals.
- Organizational Change Management. Drive change management strategies to ensure smooth adoption of new processes, systems, and organizational structures. Lead communication, training, and support initiatives to foster employee engagement and readiness for transformation. Assess organizational impact, readiness, and manage resistance, developing tailored change interventions as needed.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, Insurance, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years in business transformation, portfolio management, or a similar role, within P&C insurance.
- Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of P&C insurance operations, with domain expertise across both front- and back-office functions.
Technical Skills:
- Demonstrated experience with Guidewire or similar P&C insurance software.
- Proficiency in Business Analysis (process and requirements), Business Architecture and OCM best practices.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and tools (e.g., MS Project, JIRA).
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence senior executives.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information and drive data-driven decisions.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and effectively.
