Job Summary:
HDL Engineering Consultants, LLC (HDL) is a leader in delivering civil, geotechnical, transportation and arctic engineering, environmental and earth science, surveying, and construction management services in Alaska. We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented person to join our team in a combined role as Office Assistant/Expeditor in our Anchorage office.
The Office Assistant/Expeditor position will assist HDL office staff with a variety of tasks, as needed. These tasks include but are not limited to: running company errands, updating and maintaining company files and records, answering phone calls, and greeting clients. The ideal candidate will possess excellent problem-solving skills, exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal), and the willingness to help staff as needed.
Required Job Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Available to work a set 40-hour per week schedule
- Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record
- Competent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint) and general office equipment
Essential Job Functions:
- Run errands for HDL office staff, as needed
- Troubleshoot and coordinate company vehicle maintenance
- Operate/answer a multi-line phone system and provide in-person customer service
- Deliver documents and soil samples to clients and other HDL offices
- Receive and direct calls; assist clients and public with inquiries
- Order and distribute office supplies, as needed
- Organize and stock copy rooms and supply cabinets
- Edit and maintain HDL electronic inventory
- Order and pick up food for various company meetings
- Assist with administration filing
- Assist with editing and maintaining the HDL Wiki page
- Assist with all-staff events, such as quarterly meetings, annual summer picnic, and holiday party
- Willing to assist with other duties as assigned
Work Environment
This position routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, etc. This position may also be required to occasionally climb, kneel or crouch, and reach with hands and arms. This position may be required to lift up 50 lbs. and/or operating a hand-truck when receiving or delivering office samples.
