Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our Integrated healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have experience in a clinical setting, particularly in urgent care and outpatient environments. This role involves providing high-quality mental health care to patients, including those in senior care and dementia care settings. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating a variety of psychiatric conditions while adhering to established medical standards.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments for patients.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
- Prescribe medications and monitor their effectiveness, adjusting as necessary.
- Provide psychotherapy and counseling services to patients and their families.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Maintain accurate medical records using eClinicalWorks or similar electronic health record systems.
- Stay informed about current practices in psychiatric care, including workers compensation law as it pertains to mental health treatment.
- Participate in ongoing education and training related to psychiatric nursing and mental health issues.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Nursing with a focus on Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
- Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner with psychiatric certification.
- Experience in clinic settings, particularly with urgent care or outpatient services is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical records management and standards of practice in mental health care.
- Familiarity with dementia care practices and senior care considerations is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations.
