The Registered Dietitian / Diabetes Educator is responsible for providing comprehensive nutritional counseling and diabetes education to patients, empowering them to manage their condition effectively and improve their overall health. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in diabetes management, wellness counseling experience, strong interpersonal skills, and a passion for patient-centered care.
Essential Functions / Responsibilities :
Patient Education and Counseling :
- Develop and implement individualized diabetes education plans based on patients’ needs, goals, and medical conditions.
- Provide dietary and lifestyle counseling to promote blood sugar management and overall health.
- Educate patients on the role of nutrition, carbohydrate counting, insulin administration, and blood glucose monitoring.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED :
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field.
Registered Dietitian (RD) credential required.
Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) credential preferred or willingness to obtain.
Experience in clinical nutrition or diabetes education.
Experience working with diverse patient populations and chronic disease management.
Strong knowledge of diabetes management, medical nutrition therapy, and evidence-based practices.
Excellent communication and teaching skills.
Ability to build trust and rapport with patients and their families.
Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and other healthcare technologies.
Licensed by the State of Texas to Practice as a Dietitian required . CPR Certification to date required .
Three years’ experience in providing nutritional education and disease management teaching / counseling.
Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
