Healing Haven is a growing company that provides therapy services to families of children with autism. We are seeking a dedicated individual with strong communication skills to assist with general human resources responsibilities including managing the employee life cycle and administering employee benefits.
Minimum Experience needed to apply:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- Experience with FMLA, ADA, FSLA, and other pertinent state and federal employment laws
- Experience with ABA Therapy preferred
- 3-5 years of human resources experience
- SHRM certification (or other professional HR certification) preferred
Summary of Essential Job Functions:
- Support the VP of Operations in the design and execution of employee and organization development strategies that equip staff to carry out the Healing Haven mission;
- Provide support and input to management regarding employee relation issues from coaching to corrective action; proactively maintaining a positive work environment through a fair and consistent resolution process;
- Help create and interpret organizational policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure alignment with the Healing Haven mission that are in compliance with government laws and regulations;
- Administer company benefits including open enrollment, managing qualifying life events and communicating benefits information to employees;
- Setup onboarding paperwork through HRIS and send to payroll once completed;
- Oversee active open positions on job boards;
- Obtaining all documentation required and maintaining employee personnel records (physically and digitally) in addition to medical and payroll files.
- Manage employee FMLA leave tracking;
- Authorizes medical treatment for workplace injuries and file claim through worker’s compensation;
- Assists with the investigation and resolution of employee complaints or policy violations;
- Completes employment verifications for current and former employees;
- Ensures and facilitates effective communication to all employees and engages leadership to communicate and follow up with team members;
- Attend weekly onboarding and scheduling meetings to stay up to date with current hiring demands;
- Organize annual employee performance evaluations and merit increases when eligible;
- Manage company apparel orders;
- Oversee emergency procedures including but not limited to facilitating company emergency drills, informing employees of workplace emergency procedures and changes, and scheduling routine emergency trainings for the organization;
- Conduct exit interviews and review termination data to determine trends in company turnover;

Physical Requirements:
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, talk, hear, walk and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone
- Must be able to travel between Madison Heights and Farmington Hills offices as needed.
