Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA)

Job Summary:
We are seeking PRN Home Health Aides (HHAs) as we prepare to launch patient care in the coming months. This role is ideal for HHAs looking for flexible, as-needed work now, with the opportunity for more hours once we begin serving patients.

Pay: $24 - $28 per hour/visit

Key Details:

• This is a PRN/as-needed position, with patient care expected to begin in the near future.
• Initial responsibilities will involve helping meet licensing requirements before patient visits start.
• Those hired now will have priority consideration for full-time or part-time roles once we are fully operational.

Responsibilities:

• Help patients with daily routine: bath, showers, hygiene, etc.
• Follow POC and complete the required documentation
• Help patients maintain personal hygiene and ensure a safe, healthy environment.
• Plan and prepare nutritious meals, and shop for groceries when indicated.
• Take and record vital signs under RN or healthcare practitioner direction.
• Build trusting and confidential relationships with patients and their families.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and Quality Assurance (QA) Program initiatives.
• Perform light housekeeping duties to ensure a safe environment for the patient.
• Attend in-service training as required by state and federal regulations.
• Confirm weekly visit schedules with the Supervisor/Director.
• Notify the agency of any absences due to illness, emergencies, or other circumstances.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Special Equipment & Work Environment:

• Equipment Used: May include lifting/transfer devices and medical supplies.
• Work Setting: Indoors, performing patient care tasks in private residences.
• Travel: Requires reliable transportation for patient visits.
• Exposure Risks: Possible contact with communicable diseases.

Requirements:

• Certification: Must have a current Home Health Aide (HHA) certification in California.
• Experience: Prior experience in home health, hospice, or personal care preferred.
• Physical Ability:
• Able to lift/transfer 150 lbs or more as needed.
• Able to bend, stoop, climb stairs, and stand/walk for extended periods.
• Communication: Must be able to speak, read, and write in English effectively.
• Transportation: Must have a reliable vehicle, a valid driver’s license, and proof of insurance.
