Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Professional Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing relationships with vendors and suppliers, process transactions timely, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and the ability to work independently while supporting the overall financial health of the organization.
Duties
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including recording financial transactions and maintaining accurate ledgers.
- Receive, record, and process invoices.
- Perform double entry bookkeeping, accurately tracking debits and credits across all accounts.
- Reconcile accounts - purchase orders, credit card accounts, and bank accounts.
- Pay invoices - process and print checks for mailing, process EFTs, to pay invoices.
- Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) in all financial reporting.
- Assist in governmental accounting processes as required, ensuring all reports meet regulatory standards.
- Utilize accounting software such as Intuit QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise edition for efficient record-keeping and reporting.
- Collaborate with public accounting firms during audits or financial reviews as needed.
- Generate financial reports for management review, providing insights into the organization's financial status.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role within an accounting department.
- Strong knowledge of accounting processes and budgeting practices.
- Familiarity with governmental accounting regulations is a plus.
- Proficient in using accounting software, particularly QuickBooks; experience with other platforms is advantageous.
- Solid understanding of GAAP principles and double entry bookkeeping techniques.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data and generate actionable insights.
