Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Human Resources to lead our HR department. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of human capital management and be adept at implementing effective HR strategies that align with our organizational goals. This role requires strong leadership skills, a commitment to fostering a positive workplace culture, and the ability to manage complex employee relations issues.
Strategic Leadership & Compliance
- Develop and implement HR strategies that align with the organization’s business objectives, including talent acquisition, succession planning, and workforce development.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, modifying policies and practices as needed.
- Oversee HR programs, including compensation, benefits, employee relations, performance management, and professional development.
- Maintain knowledge of HR trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies to enhance HR operations.
Talent Management & Development
- Identify and implement structured training programs to address workforce needs, including cultural competency and patient-centered care.
- Design initiatives to enhance employee engagement, retention, and workplace morale.
- Develop and execute best practices for hiring and talent management.
- Facilitate leadership training, professional development, and mentorship programs.
Operational & Risk Management
- Administer or oversee HRIS and data management platforms to streamline HR functions.
- Manage the Federal Torts Claims Act (FTCA) process, including claims management.
- Evaluate HR procedures to improve efficiency, customer service, and risk mitigation.
- Establish relationships with FQHC HR leaders and community HR professionals for collaboration and shared resources.
Organizational Participation & Leadership
- Serve as a member of key committees, including the Personnel Committee of the Board of Directors, Executive Management Team, and Quality Improvement Committee.
- Participate in special projects and cross-functional initiatives as required.
- Provide HR-related guidance to senior leadership in support of strategic goals.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Recruit, interview, hire, and train HR staff.
- Oversee daily workflow and departmental operations.
- Conduct performance evaluations, coaching, and employee development.
- Handle disciplinary actions and terminations in accordance with company policy.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- At least five years of HR management experience, preferably in healthcare or non-profit settings.
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or any Human Resources certification is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR compliance, and best practices.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk or working on a computer.
- Occasional lifting of up to 15 pounds.
- Requires travel between clinics and office locations.
- Valid Ohio driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation required.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $97,500.00 per year
