What are the responsibilities and job description for the Consultation-Liaison Psychiatrist position at Health eCareers?
Northwell Health’s Department of Behavioral Health is seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified Consultation-Liaison Psychiatrist to join our team at Mather Hospital. The ideal candidate should be energetic and innovative and enjoy a collaborative, team-based approach. Fellowship in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry preferred, but not required.
The successful candidate will provide inpatient psychiatric consultations and follow-up visits to medical/surgical inpatients. Responsibility includes evaluating and treating patients that have behavioral complications from medical illness, complications from medications, psychiatric disorders that are co-morbid with medical conditions, and medical complications of different psychiatric disorders. Teaching opportunities exist within our resident program.
Mather Hospital, a member of Northwell Health, is an accredited 248-bed, non-profit community teaching hospital. Mather is one of the few Long Island hospitals to offer inpatient and outpatient behavioral health services for both adolescents and adults. It is the only acute care hospital in Suffolk County with an adolescent psychiatric unit and an adolescent partial hospitalization program.
