Sterling Medical is seeking a qualified Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Wright-Patterson AFB. This position offers a full range of outcome-based nurse practitioner services in a supportive, team-oriented environment. You will be responsible for providing general screening and medical care, as well as diagnosing and treating patients with various health conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a full range of nurse practitioner services, including screening, medical examinations, diagnosis, treatment, and counseling for routine, acute, and chronic conditions.
- Promote preventive care and health maintenance through education, including annual physicals and health behavior counseling.
- Technically direct and educate other staff, providing evidence-based lectures and in-service training.
- Diagnose and treat common acute conditions, chronic illnesses, and minor trauma within clinical practice guidelines and in consultation with a physician.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to inform treatment plans and enhance patient care.
- Ensure universal precautions are used in all patient interactions and recognize conditions requiring isolation.
- Attend staff meetings for case discussions, continuing education, and continuous quality improvement.
- Degree: Master’s degree in nursing.
- Education: Graduate from an accredited academic nursing program in the relevant specialty field (ACEN or CCNE accredited).
- Certification: Nurse Practitioner certification in the specialty area by an approved organization (e.g., ANCC, AANP).
- Experience: As required to meet clinical competency requirements as per the service-specific credentialing instructions.
- Licensure: Current, active, and unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse.
- Strong clinical skills in patient assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups, including patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Experience with preventive care and health maintenance practices.
- Proficient in educating patients and staff on health matters and best practices.
- Ability to collaborate and work in a team-oriented environment.
