What are the responsibilities and job description for the Security Badging Officer - Health First Safety position at Health First Careers?
POSITION SUMMARY
To be fully engaged in providing Uncompromised Safety, Superior Quality, Memorable Patient/Customer Experiences, and Financial Stewardship through armed security services to ensure the safety and security of associates, patients, and visitors of Health First facilities.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITES
- Responsible for internal and external security patrols on foot or in vehicle of facility assigned to deter criminal activity and misconduct; investigates suspicious situations.
- Responds to all emergencies/disasters which may require the officer to remain on property until the emergency/disaster is terminated; Makes appropriate notifications on campus as directed, coordinates law enforcement, medical and/or fire assistance.
- Proactively watches for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards; Warns violators of rule infractions such as loitering, smoking or carrying prohibited articles.
- Is a first responder for emergency codes, alarms, and other emergent situations to escort visitors and contractors, secure ingress and egress, and protect private information; Sounds alarms or calls police/fire department in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
- Permits authorized persons to enter property and monitors entrances and exits.
- Observes departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensures authorized removal of property is conducted within appropriate physical security requirements.
- Updates and maintains Symmetry badging system; creates badges, issues parking decals, takes ID photos, maintains access control, etc.
- Investigates and prepares reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities.
- Assists associates, patients, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
- Maintains required certifications, licensing, and training to achieve professional competency as appropriate for the position.
Work Experience
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Must meet at least one of the following education or experience requirements:
- Graduate of Police/Corrections Academy.
- Associate’s degree or above in Criminal Justice.
- Active Military (Four [4] year term of service minimum).
- Law Enforcement experience.
- Serve in Elite Military Forces, Military Police, or Combat Arms.
- Work Experience: None
- Licensure: Valid Driver’s License and clean Motor Vehicle Report and maintained.
- Certification: At least one (1) of the following certifications within thirty (30) days of start date:
- American Heart Association (AHA) Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED course
- OR American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) Healthcare Provider Completion Card.
- Work Experience In Lieu of Education: Two (2) years of verifiable security officer or badging officer experience.
- Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
- Expected completion of Crisis Prevention Training within first 90 days.
- Physical ability to deal with or subdue mental health patients in crisis.
- Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors.
- Ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public.
- Exceptional customer service, active listening and communication skills.
- Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively.
- Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately.
- Attention to detail.
- PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Majority of time involves sitting or standing; occasional walking, bending, and stooping.
- Long periods of computer time or at workstation.
- Light work that may include lifting or moving objects up to 20 pounds with or without assistance.
- May be exposed to inside environments with varied temperatures, air quality, lighting and/or low to moderate noise.
- Communicating with others to exchange information.
- Visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform tasks.
- Workspace may vary from open to confined, onsite, or remote.
- May require travel to various facilities within and beyond county perimeter; may require use of personal vehicle.
