Job Role Summary
Manages day-to-day operations of Indianapolis Healthy Start. Prepares grant applications and reports, administer budgets and contracts, manages staff, and monitors program progress. Plans, designs and implements administrative systems and procedures to provide for the optimum operation of the program office and interface with grantees. Evaluates administrative policies and practices of participating agencies in regards to purchasing, accounting, and personnel to ensure continuity with Corporation practices and the program guidelines. May recommend changes to agency directors.
Associated Job Duties
- Implements / monitors Indianapolis Healthy Start services between the Indianapolis Healthy Start providers and agencies
- Reviews / determines the propriety of reimbursement requests from the various Indianapolis Healthy Start subcontracting agencies in accordance with guidelines from the funding agency and / or the Health & Hospital Corporation
- Directs / reviews the preparation of routine or special reports required by the funding agencies or by the Corporation. Responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of these reports.
- Designs / carries out special analysis as required evaluating fund applications and coordinating services
- Monitor Core Services for strengths and weaknesses
- Initiates / arranges meetings with various health care agencies, providers, and community groups as necessary to present program information and ensure adequate input into decision-making
- Promotes / maintains excellent channels of communication with agency medical and administrative staff, administrators, state and federal planning agencies, various community groups, etc
- Inform the Maternal & Child Health Administrator of general progress in accordance with specific objectives and goals through verbal and written reports submitted as requested during the course of program year, and recommends for approval major policy / program changes to enhance operations
