Overview

Job Summary

The Data Processing Specialist I is responsible supporting the Cirdan development team with various extract, transform, and load (ETL) operations. This includes maintaining the standardization, accuracy, efficiency, automation, and documentation Cirdan’s data warehouse operations. This position provides an opportunity to gain broad knowledge of the evolving healthcare landscape. 

Responsibilities

Work Performed and Job Requirements

  • Execute pre-programmed scripts and data loading processes to support data warehousing options.
  • Perform recurring ETL tasks utilizing MS SQL Integration Services (SSIS).
  • Create and submit MN DHS and CMS encounter data, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Independently run SQL queries for basic data validation and error resolution.
  • Document ETL tasks, process flows, and data loading procedures to maintain operational consistency.
  • Generate monthly encounter data summary reports for clients.
  • Investigate SSIS packages errors and identify root causes.
  • Conduct basic data quality checks to ensure standardization and accuracy across submissions.
  • Collaborate with team members to enhance process efficiencies and optimize data workflows.
  • Assist in software testing and quality assurance tasks.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/Training

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information science, or related field is preferred. Additional experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.

 

Experience

Minimum of 1 year of professional experience in data processing, storing, or other ETL functions preferred.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and work as part of a team.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivation with a curiosity to learn, understand and grow.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality of work.
  • Proficiency with T-SQL, MS SQL (2016 or later), SSIS, and MS Office Suite preferred.
  • Basic understanding of healthcare data preferred.

The posted salary range for this role at HMA includes a range of factors that we consider when making compensation decisions. These factors include but are not limited to experience, education, training, skills, licensures, and certifications, along with other business and organizational needs. HMA may adjust the posted salary range estimate for applicable geographic differentials associated with the location where we may fill the position. At HMA, we generally do not hire an individual at or near the top of the range for their role. All compensation decisions are dependent on the variables of each case. A reasonable estimate of the existing salary range for this position is $65,000 to $85,000.
