The Carrier Relations Associate provides support with the day-to-day management of all HPOne’s contracted Medicare brokerage carriers. This Associate will have regular interaction with both internal and external contacts and will play an integral role in building carrier relationships and sales growth and retention.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assist effective facilitation, coordination, development, implementation, and execution of new carrier rollout
- Work with both internal compliance and marketing teams as well as carrier contacts to ensure necessary Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) approvals are made in a timely manner for any sales and marketing materials
- Assist with building positive client/carrier relationships with all partners
- Assist with planning and coordination of annual Insurance Expos during AEP kick-off events
- Gather all compensation schedules, carrier contracts and other carrier specific information and track in internal database
- Assist with and provide necessary support for all internal departments and their carrier related needs
- Assist Contracting team, as needed, with troubleshooting agent contracting/onboarding issues
- Coordinate and manage MARx (Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug System) access for brokerage agents, including tracking and submitting requests, troubleshooting access and maintaining master file of agent
- Pull and analyze sales data by carrier to determine future focus and priorities
- Provide reporting on a regular cadence capturing competitive retention and compliance data by partner
- Gather other data needs, analyze and interpret results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3 years in a sales or client services-oriented support role
- Strong excel skills and reporting experience
- Strong relationship management skills, both internally and externally
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
- Understanding of Medicare principles as they pertain to the sale of Medicare products
- Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) systems
- Proven ability to manage projects and process through completion
- Proven ability to learn and execute multiple processes and to be proactive in identifying potential obstacles in completing a task... Out-of-the-Box thinker!
- Excellent interpersonal/verbal communication skills and strong attention to detail
- Strong time management and organization skills
- Adaptable to change and fast paced environment
- Experience automating processes and identifying efficiencies to be gained
Preferred Skills/Abilities:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or relevant concentration
- 3 years Medicare Insurance carrier experience
- Familiarity with insurance carrier commission schedules
- Experience in a business-to-business customer environment with health plans or within healthcare
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to travel 5-10% in continental United States
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, typically in a cubicle environment (constant noise, fluorescent overhead lighting)
