Director of Patient Accounts
The Director of Patient Accounts is a pivotal role at NorthEast Provider Solutions Inc., overseeing the entire spectrum of Patient Financial Services. This includes Billing, Collections, Customer Service, Cash Posting, Denial Management, and Budget Preparation.
This individual will be responsible for directing daily activities related to planning, implementing, and maintaining all functions pertinent to the Patient Accounting departments. The goal is to continuously improve staff through education, training, and positive reinforcement of best practices.
To succeed in this position, one must meet performance goals that include cash flow management, accounts receivable days reduction, production by area, and denial reduction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Management of Patient Accounting Staff: Directly manages day-to-day activities of patient accounting staff, ensuring timely electronic/paper billing submission to payers and monitoring follow-up activity on open receivables.
- Cash Flow Management: Monitors daily cash flow to maintain optimal liquidity.
- AR Days Reduction: Maintains days in A/R at or below industry standards, striving for efficient revenue collection.
- Policies and Procedures: Establishes policy and procedure for appropriate follow-up while monitoring staff productivity, quality, and timeliness.
- Regulatory Compliance: Keeps abreast of billing regulatory changes and informs staff of new developments.
- Staff Supervision: Responsible for all aspects of individual supervision for assigned staff, including interviewing, hiring, orientation, scheduling, goal setting, progressive discipline/termination, and annual performance reviews.
Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of management-level healthcare finance experience in areas of billing and collections.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or related field (or equivalent management experience).

Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
