Under the leadership of the Program Director, the Substance Abuse Program Manager's position duties are as follows:
- Implement any substance abuse program related goals.
- Supervise, coach, and assist staff in clinical matters and responsibilities.
- Responsible to work within the allotted program budget.
- Ensure that case files are maintained in accordance with agency and DASA standards.
- Confirm that monthly program census is accurate, meet projections and data is submitted in a timely manner.
- Network with current and prospective referral sources and other community agencies.
- Conduct bi-weekly staff meeting and weekly clinical staffing.
- Perform staff annual performance appraisals.
- Provide monthly report of activities to the Program Director.
- Comply with agency policies and procedures.
- Participate in agency fundraising efforts.
- Ability to work some evenings (1:00 -9:00 p.m. at least two nights a week), to cover groups/intake/assessments as needed, provide coverage when staff is out on PTO, and follow closing procedures of the building.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Human or Social Sciences, or Social Work Required; Masters' Preferred.
- Must have at least two (2) years management experience in the substance abuse field.
- Must have clinical and training experience in substance abuse and some familiarity with MISA (mental health); Familiar with the managed care environment.
- Must be IAODAPCA certified and maintain an active CADC.
- LCSW is preferred.
- Must be familiar with DHS regulations (2060 & 2090), DMS-V, and ASAM placement criteria.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred and have a thorough understanding of social and cultural patterns of Hispanics and other minorities.
- Knowledge of MS Office applications.
- Excellent supervisor skills (i.e., team building and coaching skills, with the ability to lead, encourage and train staff).
- Proficient in communicating accurately and effectively in both verbal and written correspondence, predominately English.
- Must be knowledgeable and able to utilize group dynamics.
- Flexible to adapt to schedules and workload to the needs and demands of the program.
- Possession of a valid Illinois driver's license and willingness to use personal vehicle in course of employment.
