Member Services Rep / Teller / Banker - Immediate Opening
No Previous Financial Experience Required!
- Salary Range: $20.29-$24.35/hr (Actual compensation will be determined using factors such as experience, skills & knowledge)
- 35-hour work week
- 4 weeks of paid time off

About the Organization:
We are a full-service, credit union serving members of various Health Care organizations.
About the Position:
This position is responsible for identifying the financial needs of each member and recommending appropriate financial solutions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Service
- Deliver service to both internal and external members that is in alignment with the credit union's Service Promises.
- Meets all established sales and service goals.
- Possess adequate product knowledge as measured by the annual product knowledge certification assessment
Process New Accounts
- Establish savings/membership accounts
- Open checking accounts & order checks
- Open money market accounts & order checks
- Open subsequent savings, Christmas club, vacation club account
Maintain Membership Records and Documentation
- Process name changes
- Process address changes
- Process payroll deduction changes
- File membership cards and make sure all work is prepared for scanning
- Process all account maintenance
- Scan all required documentation consistently and in a timely manner
Respond to Member's Needs, Inquiries and Requests
- Research account inquiries or discrepancies
- Provide members with rates and account disclosure information
- Suggest products and services to further benefit members' financial needs
- Order check copies, plastics, pin number copies, statement copies, and reorder checks, etc.
- Complete verification of deposit forms
Process Members Mailed In Transactions
- Post deposits to various share accounts
- Post loan payments
- Process VISA payments
- Send receipts for mailed in deposits
- Send withdrawal checks or close accounts per written requests
Process Members Walk In Transactions
- Post deposits to various share accounts
- Post loan payments
- Process VISA payments
- Process cash and check withdrawal requests
- Transfer funds between share account or from share to loan & VISA
- Cash checks for members
- Sell travelers checks and gift checks
- Process cash advance requests on loans and HACU's VISA
- Process wire transfer requests
- Process stop-payments
Accurate Balancing
- Examine checks for endorsements, negotiability, and determine if funds extended hold needs to be placed
- Verify transaction slip is completed accurately, assist member with completion if necessary
- Complete transaction slip if one is not present with mail in transaction
- Make sure all totals balance with computer teller balance totals (checks for deposit, withdrawal checks, and teller cash drawer if applicable)
Floating Teller Duties
- Travel to other branches on an as needed basis to satisfy and assist with staff shortages
- Perform all duties that you normally would perform from your home branch
Other
- Adhere to other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior financial institution experience helpful, but not necessary
- Ability to work cooperatively with other staff to maintain a team work environment
- Basic math skills necessary for balancing and cash handling; working knowledge of computer applications
- Ability to communicate well with the members as well as a strong desire to help the members with their financial needs
