BASIC FUNCTIONS:
Under the supervision of the Chief Information Officer, the IT Manager will be responsible for overseeing the IT department, managing IT staff, and ensuring the effective operation of end-user devices, peripherals, and device security. This role also involves strategic planning, budgeting, and technology implementation to support organizational goals.
The IT Manager will collaborate with executive leadership and other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for the organization.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise IT department staff to ensure the efficient management of all end-user devices and IT infrastructure.
- Develop, implement, and maintain IT policies and procedures to support organizational needs.
- Schedule IT staff in accordance with the organization’s technology demands.
- Provide leadership, coaching, supervision, and performance evaluation of IT staff.
- Train new IT staff and oversee ongoing professional development.
- Monitor and ensure timely resolution of help desk tickets and IT support issues.
- Manage IT budgets, vendor relationships, and procurement of hardware and software.
- Ensure network and system security, including compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
- Act as the primary contact for IT service vendors, contracts, and negotiations.
- Oversee the planning, installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT infrastructure.
- Research and implement emerging technologies to enhance business operations.
- Monitor system performance, analyze issues, and recommend technology improvements.
- Manage application and user accounts, access control, and system permissions.
- Ensure data integrity, backup processes, and disaster recovery planning.
- Develop and maintain IT-related documentation, policies, and procedures.
- Facilitate interdepartmental communication regarding IT needs and solutions.
- Provide leadership for IT project management, including software implementation and upgrades.
- Ensure that the IT environment supports high levels of productivity and operational efficiency.
- Conduct periodic IT risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate potential threats.
- Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure a high level of customer service by addressing IT-related concerns in a timely manner.
- Oversee IT-related compliance efforts, including HIPAA, OSHA, and other relevant regulations.
- Be available for on-call emergencies and provide support outside of normal business hours when required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven leadership experience in an IT management role.
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, including Microsoft Windows environments, Active Directory, and network security.
- Experience managing IT budgets and vendor relationships.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose complex technical issues.
- Familiarity with PowerShell scripting and automation tools is a plus.
- Experience with VMware, vSphere, and cloud computing solutions is beneficial.
- Strong understanding of data security, backup solutions, and disaster recovery planning.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
