What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dryfold Service position at Healthcare Linen Services Group?
JOB PURPOSE: Machine operating to fold, press, and package clean healthcare linen based on customer specifications. Must work efficiently to feed machines for proper processing of each type of linen.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Education desired but not required.
- Ability to read, write, and carryout verbal instructions.
- Ability to work in team atmospheres.
- Ability to work flexible schedule for necessary overtime.
- Ability to understand and apply all Reino Linen Service policies and procedures and/or consult with the Supervisor about areas of confusion.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds unassisted.
- Ability to bend to waist.
- Ability to see, with or without corrective devices.
- Ability to use both arms and hands.
- Ability to hear, with or without corrective devices.
- Ability to twist upper body left and right.
- Ability to push a weighted cart with a maximum 35-pound push/pull measurement.
- Ability to operate all relevant equipment after training is provided.
- Able to work in heat.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manual folding of various linen items to meet customer quality specifications.
- Inspect for quality specifications and feed small-piece linens into small piece folders.
- Feed sheets into ironers.
- Inspect for quality specifications and feed blankets and spreads into blanket folder.
- Identify linen that should not be processed and place in sorting system at the machine for further inspection.
- Perform all duties safely and efficiently and adhere to customer quality specifications.
- Keep work area clean and clear of trip and fall hazards.
- Ability to understand verbal instructions and carry out assigned job-related tasks.
- Ability to assess and communicate personal difficulty or concern in carrying out specific assigned tasks to Team Lead/Supervisor.
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently, keeping pace with co-workers in the assigned task area.
- Ability to work cooperatively with co-workers to maintain a team-oriented work environment.
- Ability to move from one task to another as production needs change.
- Ability to identify and report a safety concern, whether to the individual or the group as whole.
