What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accountant position at Healthcare Linen Services Group?
PURPOSE:
The Senior Accountant reports to the Accounting Manager and will challenge your skills as you prioritize multiple components. This position will perform monthly journal entries & internal reporting during the monthly close, participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for annual audits, review financial statement schedules, maintains and controls the general ledger accounts and business transactions of the organization, and applies the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) that includes analytical work and thorough review of financial records.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Close Activity: Execution and oversight of assigned processes within the monthly, quarterly and annual close process. This includes preparation of journal entries, monthly and quarterly balance sheet account reconciliations and financial statement analytics.
• Reporting: Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Cash Flow for external auditors & internal reporting
• M&A Activity: Assist in the purchase accounting and net working capital reviews with targeted companies as well as auditors post-deal. Also assist in the integration of acquired companies and the implementation of our policies and procedures at those companies
• Taxes: Coordinate the filing of local, state and federal tax returns with a third party vendor
• Ensuring multi-state business compliance regarding local franchise tax filings, business licenses and property tax filings
• Audit: Key member of finance team ensuring the annual financial statement audit is completed efficiently and effectively
• Teamwork: Develop relationships within finance department (General Accounting, FP&A, Collections, Accounts Payable) and outside finance department (Human Resources /Payroll & Benefits, IT, Operations, Executives).
• Projects: Participating in cross-department special projects that incorporate a wide range of accounting, operations and strategy
• Implementations: Assist with any future implementations
• Financial Analysis and Strategy:
o Analyze and report on variances of actual to budget and prior year financial results and provide recommendations for operational results.
