Role: Building Engineer
Pay Rate: Up to $45/hr
Hours: Day Shift
Location: 270 Duck Pond Rd. Locust Valley, NY 11560

Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on HVAC units; troubleshoot, install, repair, and replace as needed.
- Conduct routine inspections of pumps, RTUs, and boilers to ensure proper operation.
- Perform scheduled maintenance, including lubrication, filter changes, and cleaning.
- Monitor and adjust system settings for efficiency and performance.
- Diagnose and repair pumps (e.g., circulation pumps, condensate pumps) to prevent failures.
- Troubleshoot and repair RTUs, including compressors, fans, and electrical components.
- Identify and fix issues with boilers, such as leaks, ignition problems, and pressure irregularities.
- Operate and maintain tools used in the maintenance and repair of building facilities.
- Remove snow with shovels, blowers, and plows when necessary.
- Provide logistical support for campus activities and maintain a safe, clean, and conducive environment for learning.
- Assist with fire drills, lockdowns, and other safety exercises.
- Assist in managing traffic flow and parking throughout the campus.
- Perform on-call duties as needed/assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 3 years of HVAC experience and general maintenance.
- Experience in one or more building trades and CMMS software.
- HVAC/R Certification and Refrigerant License required.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Strong problem-solving, time management, communication, and organizational skills.
- Enjoy working independently and as part of a team; flexible and dependable.
- Ability to walk for long periods and lift/move up to 50 pounds.
- Work from ladders, climb stairs and perform tasks that require bending, reaching, and crawling.
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Sit at a desk working on a computer as needed.
- Must provide a criminal background check.
