Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Memory Behavioral Health Resident Aide to provide compassionate, specialized care for individuals with cognitive impairments, including Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. The ideal candidate will be a certified HCA or NAC with a strong passion for enhancing the quality of life for our residents through personalized, person-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
Resident Care & Engagement:

Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.

Foster meaningful connections through companionship and cognitive engagement activities.

Monitor and promptly report any changes in residents’ behavior or well-being to the healthcare team.
Behavioral Health & Support:

Implement individualized care strategies to manage dementia-related behaviors such as agitation, wandering, and aggression.

Utilize therapeutic communication and de-escalation techniques to support residents' emotional and behavioral needs.

Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and adjust care plans as needed.
Safety & Environmental Wellness:

Maintain a secure and comfortable environment by adhering to safety protocols and fall prevention measures.

Regularly assess the living space for potential hazards and take corrective actions.

Follow emergency procedures and ensure residents' safety at all times.
Documentation & Communication:

Accurately document resident care, behavioral observations, and any notable changes.

Report incidents and significant developments to supervisors and healthcare professionals in a timely manner.

Engage with family members to understand residents’ life histories, preferences, and routines, enhancing personalized care.
Professional Growth & Development:

Stay informed on best practices in dementia care and behavioral health management through ongoing training.

Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities to enhance caregiving skills.
Working Conditions:

Requires standing for extended periods, lifting, and assisting residents with mobility.
