What are the responsibilities and job description for the Family Nurse Practitioner position at HealthCare Stat?
This position will provide employee with PRN hours 1-2 shifts a week. We are open 830-600 M-F. Practitioner must be dependable and flexible. Provider will be eligible to move to permanent location as position becomes available. We look to have a full time position available in 6 months. This position is a PRN as needed position. We will provide the malpractice insurance and the collaborating physician if needed.
The Nurse Practitioner will function as an independent practitioner who is responsible for managing health problems both acute and chronic and coordinating health care for the patient in accordance with State and Federal rules and regulations and the nursing standards of care (assessment of health status, diagnosis, development of plan of care and treatment, implementation of treatment plan, and evaluation of patient status)management is conducted in collaboration with other health care team members.
Essential responsibilities
- Functions independently to perform age-appropriate history and physical for acute problems, and chronically ill patients.
- Orders and interprets diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to patient’s age-specific needs.
- Prescribes appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities.
- Monitors the effectiveness of interventions.
- Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals.
- Facilitates staff, patient and family decision making by providing educational tools.
- Be proficient is skills including clinic functions when needed in IV placement, lab work, time management.
- Be friendly and understanding to the patients needs and requirements to maintain a well patient client relationship
- Work involves regular and recurring exposure to infection and contagious diseases. Standard precautions will be required such as gloves, gowns, mask, or goggles.
- Employee will be required to document patient care and encounter in EHR.
- Significant position requirements
- This position may require travel between offices to facilitate coverage
- This position is primarily for weekend coverage
- The employee must be punctual and report for duty for scheduled shifts
- The employee must present themselves in a professional manner
Minimum qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program
- Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) Licensure and certification
- Hold a DEA and OBNDD with active status.
