HCTG is seeking a Medical Copy Editor & Proofreader with editorial, proofreading, and copyediting experience to join our Digital Production team that operates within the pharmaceutical and biotech industries.
You will be responsible for supporting three initiatives: 1) Editing and proofreading digital medical content directed at a physician audience, 2) Quality control of the digital user experiences across digital assets, and 3) Occasional ad hoc support for other groups on the team in meeting our company’s editorial standards.
Essential Duties Responsibilities
You will be responsible for supporting three initiatives:
- Editing and fact-checking digital medical content directed at a physician audience (must be factually and grammatically correct)
- Ensure all content is aligned to client and company vision
- Support across all clients in meeting our company's content & editorial standards.
- [SHARED RESPONSIBILITY] Quality control of the digital user experiences across digital assets
40% Editing and Proofing
- Edit and proofread a variety of digital assets that will launch across online platforms in line with the digital production schedule directed at a physician audience
- Raise queries with content to ensure the highest quality content is produced; This includes Annotations, Referencing and Citation Creation
- Check for and correct punctuation, spelling, grammar, usage and copy style in accordance with client specifications and in-house style for consistency and ensure text is well-written and logically structured
40% Content Strategy & Production
- Review & lightly edit patient consults/HCP community content to ensure a cohesive vision
- Input content into Strapi CMS, including light design & HTML work as needed
- Ensure content preview is error-free
- Prepare code files for web development
15% User Experience Quality Control
- Conduct minimal testing of digital programs, microsites and other experiences on staging platform prior to program launch live
- Check illustrations, captions and links are correct
- Apply formatting specs/design style across both print and web platforms
- Ensure and maintain the quality standards required for all digital programs
5% Ad Hoc or Special Projects
- To be discussed and determined by your manager
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of professional proofreading or copyediting experience necessary
- Some Healthcare or Medical Content Exposure/Experience a MUST (job or internship experience equivalent OK)
- Experience with medical/health documents, Medical Legal Review process a MAJOR plus
- College degree in English or Journalism preferred, but not required
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products and Mac products and must have the ability and willingness to learn to use other media platforms
- Prior experience working with Project Management software (such as Basecamp, Monday.com, etc) a plus

Salary : $65,000 - $80,000
