ACCOUNTING / PAYROLL SPECIALIST

Job Purpose : The Accounting / Payroll Specialist is responsible for performing a wide range of general clerical, accounting, and payroll functions to support HealthCore Clinic.
Patient-Centered Medical Home Essential Functions :
1. Patient Population Management :
- Answers questions about staff payroll and / or questions about accounts payable, and receivable functions as needed.
2. Care Coordination :
a. Receives clinic daily deposits from the front desk and checkout clerk and reconciles the funds to the daily deposit reports printed from the patient revenue software.
b. Prepares deposits on a daily basis.
c. Records all deposits into the Accounting system.
d. Assist with company payroll, verifies employee deductions and processes payroll taxes.
e. Assist with reviewing, codes and enters accounts payable invoices from vendors and matches with purchase orders.
f. Processes checks to send to vendors.
g. Assist with updates in the Fixed Asset Software, depreciation and all other schedules on a monthly basis in preparation for annual financial audit.
h. Ensures all invoices are posted in accounts payable for month end.
i. Prepares and processes quarterly tax reports.
j. Reviews accounts payable vendors and processes year end 1099s’.
k. Reviews quarterly tax reports and matches annual totals for payroll W2s.
Additional Responsibilities :
1. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements : To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. 1. High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
2. Minimum one (1) year of experience working in accounts payable, accounts receivable and / or payroll required.
3. Experience working in healthcare industry preferred but not required.
4. Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles; strong understanding of basic accounting procedures such as debit / credit, payables and receivables.
5. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, namely Word, Excel and Outlook.
6. Familiarity with accounting software required. Sage 100 and Asset Keeper Pro experience a plus.
7. Have a positive, friendly and professional demeanor with excellent interpersonal skills.
8. Assist with gathering data and inputting data into databases.
9. Strong computer literacy.
10. Attention to detail and ability to compose and generate documents and reports.
11. Ability to work productively with internal and external customers.
12. Adept at working well with team members.
13. Remain flexible to with stand unpredictable changes to workflow and schedules.
14. Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality in regards to HCC matters.
