Job Summary
Healthlink Pharmacy LLC is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Billing Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing billing processes, ensuring accurate coding and timely collections. The Billing Specialist will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of our medical office by ensuring that all billing activities are conducted accurately and in compliance with regulations.
Responsibilities
Insurance Claims Processing:
-Conduct prior authorizations and appeals with insurance companies.
-Research and resolve claim denials and rejections.
-Monitor claim status and ensure timely reimbursement.
Data Entry and Maintenance:
-Maintain accurate patient demographics and insurance information.
-Update patient records with relevant clinical and billing information.
-Ensure data integrity and accuracy in all billing systems.
Billing and Collections:
-Follow up on outstanding patient balances.
-Coordinate with patients and insurance companies to resolve billing discrepancies.
Compliance:
-Stay updated on all relevant billing and coding regulations (e.g., ICD-10, CPT codes).
-Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and other applicable laws.
Reporting:
-Generate and analyze billing reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs).
-Identify and report any potential billing issues or areas for improvement.
Requirements
-Strong knowledge of medical billing and coding procedures (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS)
-Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word)
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
-Strong attention to detail and accuracy
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team
