Position Summary:
Performs a variety of clerical tasks involving direct patient contact, assisting assigned medical department in providing outstanding patient care and services.
Tasks include, but not limited to: answering phones, faxes, cleaning and stocking the department, delivering specimens to lab, directing patients.
Work Schedule: M-F 7:30a-4p or 8a-4:30p
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate from an approved medical assisting or medical office assisting program or equivalent work experience.
- Basic computer/keyboarding skills required.
- Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and ensure safety of patients.
- Possesses ability to proficiently operate the following pieces of equipment: Telephone, Personal Computer utilizing word processing software, and Photocopier
Preferred Qualifications:
- Medical Office Assistant Certification
- Strong verbal communication, human relation, listening, telephone etiquette, and handwriting skills required.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy also required.
- Possesses ability to promote and maintain good patient relations and patient confidentiality
